Serious Big Wheeled Bikes

September 3, 2008
Large Wheeled Bike

Large Wheeled Bike

Usually the sorts of people you see riding these big wheeled bikes are either clowns, or men in top hats and vintage dress. However, this vintage bicycle poster seems to be showing a sportsman riding his big wheeled bike.

Now that is a sport I would have liked to see in Beijing, it could replace some of those pseudo sports which seemed to dominate the Olympic coverage here.

Artistic Noticeboard

July 18, 2008

You can easily pay far too much for a funky notice board, just because it happens to be in a cool colour, or an unusual shape, but try this idea on for size at your place – find a black wall or the back of a door and pencil in a line pattern. Screw in eyelet hooks to the corners of your design and then thread elastic shock cord through the eyelets to complete your design shape.

You now have somewhere you can clip notices and shopping lists, hang tea towels or secure paper towel, and in choosing a contrasting colour for your cord, you also have an artistic display too. Very cheap too!

Secret Wall Art View

May 28, 2008

Surrounded and framed by the twisting branches of a California oak tree, the beauty of the vineyard is the subject of this photograph by Susanne Leasure. Rolling hills covered by rows of vines draws the eye into the photo. Lush greens and contrasting light and shadow will make this a wonderful print for your home decor. Wall art often gives us an insight into the lives and feelings of the artist, and sometimes even an insight into ourselves and our own world. ‘Vineyard’ wall art makes me feel as though the photographer has stumbled upon this scene and wants to capture it before it changes, or they are discovered.

I feel honoured that I can share this special, secret view of this beautiful vineyard scene and I think that the most important thing a piece of wall art can do is transport you to another world and that is what this photo does for me.

Explore Your Childhood

May 13, 2008

This is a river rock painting of a flowing clear watercourse rushing along its path in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Standing in front of this oil painting will make you feel like you are standing on a boulder as the artist was, evoking the feeling of a slight breeze and calming sounds. Little wonder, Leasure is well known for making collectors of his art feel like they are part of the scenes he paints. This wall art is number two in a series entitled “Cascading Waters”. Light up your wall and experience the glowing warmth and a sense of the refreshing outdoors with this beautiful work of art. The artist has paid particular attention to using colors that not only represent beauty from along a bold river, but also work exceptionally with interior design. Notice the attention to details in the moving water. The distortions on the surface and the glimmers on the bends induce a refreshing sensation. Although a collector has purchased the original oil painting, you may acquire a limited addition archival quality reproduction at a remarkable price. The reproduction has been signed by the artist and hand enhanced.Didn’t everyone, at one time or another see a stream just like this one, littered with rocks and decide to cross it? There was never a lot of danger involved because the water was not running very fast and nor was it very deep, the main worry was falling in and trying to explain to mum why you were dripping wet.

This wall art painting makes me smile and is a chance to remember other silly childhood adventures which we would never think to embark on now.

The Power of White

February 21, 2008

‘Lady Bug Love’White is the chosen color for 2008. A combination of all the colors, the color has always stood for purity, innocence, commitment, reverence, modesty, unity and sanitation.  We all know that our moods are affected by our environment. We can easily change our interiors to give us more stress relief and tranquility.

White is the best color that brings brightness in your home along with the added impression of more space around you. Always admired as a classy and elegant color, it also forms a perfect base for all your accessories and complements all styles.

Things of nature such as beautiful landscapes, green plants, graceful animals, vibrant flowers and artistic rocks are major stress busters, whether painted on canvas, as appliqué murals, or even as posters and photo images. From a soft cream of ivory to milky white lilies; the traditional romantic look or a modern hi tech environment, whites can make a regal difference this year!

Arranging Wall Art

January 24, 2008

‘Splash’

No doubt, Canvas Art brings a new lease of life to your décor like no other décor accessories can! The wall art that you put up not only define your personality, taste and style, but also beautify your space and help you unwind and recharge from the weariness of the day.

The vital question is where and how to hang your beloved art? Try grouping your collection on the floor first, to check out which combination looks best. (That also keeps your walls free from ugly marks!) It is usually the larger paintings that look good at the top. The smaller ones can accompany them below. If you want to create a little variation and impact, try different locations, like ledges or a niche, with focus lighting. How about some accessories like smooth pebbles and shells near a seascape or palm trees near a tropical print? Nature and travel are going hot and make a fabulous statement in your personal spaces. You could add metal wall art or even vintage bicycle posters from all over your visited places to showcase your adventurous spirit and sportsmanship!
